Bayport Financial Services provided TZS 20 million to renovate the Airport Primary School in Kigoma. This is the largest amount given by any micro-finance institution (or any private company) to a single school in Tanzania. The project involved the construction of the school’s administration block, with two new offices – one for the head teacher’s office and the other for the teacher’s staff room. 160 desks where supplied to the school and all floors were redone. The entire school received a new coat of paint after all renovations were complete.
